Dad went to Liverpool University & became a Civil Engineer. In the war he worked on runways & the Mulberry harbours. They left Liverpool & moved to Pitsea I think, because of his work during the war. He worked on high profile jobs in later years including Waterloo Bridge & The Post Office Tower. He worked for Peter Lind for many years.

Herbert married Hazel Regina Davies, daughter of George William Davies and Annie Louisa Handley, in Liverpool, UK. (Hazel Regina Davies was born on 14 Nov 1923 in West Derby, Liverpool, England and died on 8 Dec 2004 in Barnet, Hertfordshire, England.). The cause of her death was heart failure.
