Alexander Holmes

There is some information on my tree (GR) about the Holmes family, who originated from Scotland. Alexander Holmes or Holm came originally from the Black Isle, Ross & Cromarty. His wife, Helen Thom, came from Kemnay near Aberdeen. They married in Aberdeen in 1822 and seem to have moved down to London shortly afterwards, where their daughter, Margaret, was born in 1824. Alexander actually had two families on the go at once! He married Mary Foss Greenhill after Helen died but he had already had two children with her, plus one who died.
