George Reginald (Reggie) Verdun Davies
- Born: 31 Mar 1916, Liverpool, UK
- Died: 31 Jul 1921, Cottage Hospital, Llandudno, North Wales aged 5 51,52
Cause of his death was Intestinal obstruction/Appendix abscess.
General Notes:
Died at age 5 years of appendicitis, apparently caused by chewing gum (source Roger Davies July 2009)
Tony Davies Aug 2019: Reggie died at the age of 6 of peritonitis, allegedly after a botched appendix removal. Of course they did not have antibiotics then so it might have been an unavoidable infection if the appendix had burst. They were on holiday in Wales. The family legend is that it was the result of him swallowing chewing gum, which is why Gerry and I were never allowed to have it.
Roger Davies 2009: Jack Handley adored his nephew Reggie, the only small child in the family at the time. When Jack came in his car, Reggie would stand in the step for a ride.
Medical Notes:
Allegedly after a botched appendix removal.
